Those are the homebuilt cabs that CSX installed on SD40-2 after rebuilt. They do look like something GE would do.  Personally I think they have a face that only a mother could love.

I was just thinking about that.  I was reviewing some shots I never got round to editing and was tempted to slip one in  early just to be evil. :trollface:

At EMD's Open House last weekend:



That new Demo/Leasing scheme looks pretty darn sharp. There were 5 of these engines, 2110-2114 kicking around the plant, plus a couple of finished UPs ready to go. Currently they are working on an order of SD70ACes for Norfolk Southern.

The stripes and logo on the nose are actually silver, as is the "Electro-Motive" lettering on the locomotives' sides.

The EMD units were all sitting on shop trucks (modified freight car trucks) instead of finished trucks.

Yep, there's supposed to be more of them being built (apparently some of the EMDX leasors are being built in Mexico) but the rumour I heard is that they're to be leased to CSX.

CP is possible, they always seem to be leasing a ton of crap, but they've not been too interested in any of EMD's power in the last decade.
