Lou, I get what you're saying.  I've certainly seen some head-scratchers over the years.

Probably my biggest source of frustration is when I see something for, say, $40 that I want but don't pull the trigger... and it doesn't sell...but doesn't get relisted.  Then when I get ready to buy it, it's gone and for the next year every one I see is listed for $100.   That has happened to me more than once.  I'll admit it's my fault for not buying it in the first place, but it's still frustrating.

I made them just for fun (no keystrokes, either--that was me just fooling around). You'll have to ask Tom if they can be rolled into the interface or not.

I think there are lot of people out there who really over value their item that they are selling.  Ever try and by a classic car for parts that even the parts are questionable and the guy selling it wants $35,000 for a rusted out POS?  Watch any of the pawn store shows on TV....but it is rare and therefore highly valuable!........Ya but I have been in business for 30 years and no one has ever come in looking to buy this thing, just being rare does not mean being in demand.

I also have some run into several people that believe that ebay is the end all be all in market place purchases.  They would not trust or consider an actual hobby shop online.  I am surprised at the number of buy it now listings compared to years past.

My only gripe is the fee charged on shipping plus the final sales price.  I have always charged fair shipping usually losing 50 cents to a buck or so just to be competitive.  Low sales prices and crazy high S&H led to this practice. 

Take your time and look for a specific item and certain price or just scroll through looking for deals and eventually you will find what you are looking for.

The best deals buying are when you buy a lot of stuff, pick out the one or two things you want and then sell the rest individually. I have done this four times and have gotten the cars I wanted for free and made a couple bucks. When I sell, I start at $.99,(always used stuff) and let the buyers take it to where the market price is. I charge actual shipping by whatever means the buyer wants. If I got to buy a box for whatever it is I will add in a handling charge of 50 to 75 cents for the box, which is what I pay for them from uline. I like ebay and will always use it. I just wont pay more there for something that I can get from an etailer. Just takes a quick search of a couple places.

I don't usually buy stuff on ebay that I can get through an LHS or online from one of my favorite places, figure the 'real' stores need my business more even though some of the sellers on ebay are real stores. I don't get the absurd prices for random assortment of micro trains box cars, or the Bachman Dash 9 for $100, I can't imagine what those people's motivation is, they have to see that the stuff that is selling is selling for less. I do like that just about anything shows up eventually though. Just recently finally got a 2nd C&NW LifeLike C424 so I can do the two Centurys and an RS slug thing. I probably over paid for it as far as "market value" people who don't want one would give it, but it's value to me was high as I "needed" another one and I'm sure that if Walthers reruns them they'll be crazy expensive. I guess at that particular time the market value of it was quite high, now that I've got my two the value has probably gone down because I don't need 3! Maybe I should have let the other guy get this one & after he got his I'd have no competition on the next one and get it cheaper. But then again what if there wasn't a next one, or this other guy needed two.... I wasn't actively modeling when these came out years ago, and now I could have spent thousands and traveled to hundreds of shows and swap meets all over the country & not found one, so I'm kind of thankful we have a thing like ebay to connect me with two people who didn't want theirs with relatively no cost or effort on my part other than, albeit nearly 2 years apart.

I agree on the price - makes me want to finish all my GHQ kits and sell them. Your work, FWIW, should command twice that price.
