I have assembled the Code 40 track for the mainline through Tremblay.  Here it is sitting in position on the roadbed:

Next up is the parallel siding track with the curves out of the turnout at each end.  However, that will have to wait until after my holiday in the U.K.

Have a wonderful summer, and we'll see you in September.

Continued upgrading two MTL Pullmans.  Finally got the roof fans correct on the New Haven parlor car, and rearranged the underbody equipment for ice-cooled air conditioning.

On the stock Pennsy 12-1 sleeper, I changed the name of the Whittier to Sam Adams and rearranged the underbody equipment for ice-cooled air conditioning.

Still a few detail parts to add.  I like that the ice-cooled underbody arrangement makes the models look more hefty.  I am one large ice bunker short on the Sam Adams, so I have to wait a couple of weeks to get more in from Shapeways before continuing.

Still trying to work out some scenery details on the home layout, but I seem to have developed "Modeler's block".I sure hope it's curable. ;D

In the meantime here's a pic of my two newest members of the Grande Valley Railway fleet in the new colours.SD45(actually a SD40-3) #3600 and SD38 #2057 earning their keep going to pick up their train. Both units are KATO with 2057 using a ATLAS long hood for the conversion.

This makes 6 units completed in the new scheme with 2 more to finish. Then some of the blue and yellow ones will get new paint.

FYI, the X2011 West team is posting this morning and thru the day, a whole series of
video clips from National Train Show.

Go here:   http://facebook.com/x2011west

You don't need a Facebook account to see them, it's setup to be open to anyone.  Enjoy!

There will be about 15 of them arriving during the morning 7/10/11, so if you don't see them
all, check back in a couple of hours :-)

Finally, here's one more of the many photos from X2011 West and National Train Show this weekend
on the X2011 West Facebook page:

The X2011 West Convention is over now.  The X2011 West Facebook page will
stay up as a forever momento of a excellent model railroad convention.

The National Train Show continues to be open tomorrow Sunday 7/10, from 10am-5pm

Here's a direct link to over 340 photos from X2011 West:

Went to the NTS yesterday and had an awesome time!  I got to meet Craig from BLMA, Bob from TrainCat, and several others.  Also, I got a coupon from my LHS (that had a booth there) good for 10% off for the next month!  Huzzah!

Recently got a few more of the MP54e2 cars painted. Here's a string of them running at the Cherry Valley:

Unfortunately we do not yet have enough catenary installed to run them with the pans up. Hopefully by the end of the year I'll have a few more feet strung.

Got the track laid and electrical feeders connected on my next module:

Aside from getting some practice on a friend's HO module, this is the first time I've actually tried to solder the feeders to the side of the rail.

(The connectors at the bottom on the center track are more "old-school" for me; in this case they're part of a deliberate attempt to protect the turnout from being damaged if the end of the track gets snagged. That area will largely be hidden from view in normal use in any case.)

Writing waybills makes you work on your rolling stock...  Renumbering this one, fixing couplers on that one, installing a load on the other one...

More to come...
