Welcome to the "X2011 West NMRA Nationals You-Are-There" thread.

Here are the most recent updates that I've had time to process below. Much more can be seen, much sooner in
realtime, at the X2011 West Facebook page:

http://facebook.com/x2011west

Much more content is there than we have time to post here, including movies, videoes,
chats discussing events as they happen, etc.  Feel free to follow along!

Anyone can see the above, you don't have to logon or be a member of Facebook to see all
the real-time reporting going on out there.

Here are At-the-Convention-site shots from the contest room and a clinic:

UP Cheyenne full scale spring 1959 (N):

More contest room :

And clinics.  Professional photographer Steve Crise, showing up lighting, invited
us up to photo graph this module with his professionally-set-up lighting.
Wow.  Proper lighting makes a difference!

Hope you enjoyed so far and we are only at Tuesday, so much more X2011 West NMRA Nationals action to come.

Tons of photos/videos on X2011 West's Facebook, too many to list here.  But all
great and all in real-time.

http://facebook.com/x2011west

Peter Hess' O scale steel press mill, full animation and sound, entered in Structure category:

Joel Priest' scratchbuilt Virginia & Ohio Diesel Shop.  Joel is the young man
who is on the cover of the 2011 National Train Show brochure/map you will
get when entering the National Train Show :-) :

One of the many photos in the Photo Contest, this is a model :-):

Here's a cool video of NWP 1958:

https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=2280392008167

As you can tell, we in X2011 West are putting everything on http://facebook.com/x2011west , as we can do that in real time. It's much slower to process a photo and then come to a Forum. We're happy to do Forum as soon as we can, but if you want to see it *fast*, just look at the Facebook :-).

Anyone can see http://facebook.com/x2011west it's public and you don't need to logon to FB.

Check it out:  http://facebook.com/x2011west    and enjoy.  :-)

Yes, the show is just hours away (opens at 12 noon for general public, at 9am for X2011 West
Convention attendees). Until then, whet your appetite, X2011 West really likes Harry Wong's NTS2011pix Facebook

album, Harry's got some NEW Product Photos from NTS on Facebook page
that he took yesterday during setup.

Just like X2011 West's Facebook, no Facebook account is required, just click!:
https://www.facebook.com/NTS2011pix

COOL!: the first batch of photos are also now on Harry's Pbase:
http://www.pbase.com/tracktime/nts2011pix&page=all

Here's one example, I'm cross-posting a pic from Harry's Pbase album, example of
what he does, which is always great stuff:

N and HO Con-Cor New Haven Comet:

HO Athearn SP Mountain 4-8-2:

Both of us will be live-blogging using our respective Facebook accounts,
from 2011 National Train Show floor on Friday AM.  So enjoy and get ready!:

Tip: if you haven't done so already and are a Facebook member, 'Like' the X2011 West Facebook
and/or the NTS2011pix Facebook = you'll get automatic email as soon as as-it-happens update is
posted, which will happen *a lot* starting 60 minutes from now.  That's the coolest thing.

See you soon inside the 2011 National Train Show :-)

Harry's NTS photos on Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/NTS2011pix

X2011 West's coverage of the entire X2011+NTS, see a parking map and preview of brochure cover at:
http://facebook.com/x2011west

Between two of us, you'll have a good time as it happens.  That is our goal.   Welcome to 2011!   :-).

---------

We just reposted on X2011 West's Facebook, a map to parking and pic of the brochure.

Go here to see those (you don't need a FB account, anyone can see:)

http://facebook.com/x2011west

The direct links:

Enjoy!

TIP: Be aware that 2011 National Train Show opens to the general public at 12 noon
(and to X2011 West Convention Attendees at 9am).
