Micro-Trains Next HW Passenger Car

Anybody else notice the ad in the August Model Railroader announcing MT's next HW car?

According to the ad on page 17, they will be doing a Paired-Window Coach based on the B&O Plan #2882-B.  It's listed as coming in the Winter of 2011.

That also might explain Eric Smith's answer to my question at the NSE Convention about whether they would be releasing the HW's in B&O paint...   ;D

Anyone have a proto shot of this type of car?

I believe it is the same car as the Walthers HO paired window coach. Most of the shots on Jerry's site are of the modernized versions (themopane windows and round roof) but here is one I found there. I think it is the correct plan.

Hopefully this is just a test for when they do single window coaches.

So the paired-window coach ins't a PRR P70.  Still, MTL is all kinds of awesome for doing these, and I'm glad they're an eastern prototype.

The single-window coach is coming at some point.  Joe confirmed that on the N Scale Varnish email group.
