Our trip into Portland via the Columbia River Gorge was wet with a few trains :-(

The trip out was sunny, with very few trains :-(

Beautiful scenery though - Bridal Veil Falls lookout:

Finally getting some older pictures posted. Guess I blew finishing that by heading to Berea, OH Wednesday - Sunday.  ;D I would have hated to be a passenger on the super late Lake Shore Limited which finally passed through Berea westbound today at 11:55.  :o

1) Amtrak P42DC No. 66 leads Amtrak P084, the "Virginian," northbound on the RF&P Subdivision in Alexandria, Virginia on 25 April 2011.

2) Amtrak P42DC No. 156 leads P176, a "Northeast Regional," northbound on the RF&P Subdivision in Alexandria, Virginia on 25 April 2011.

3) Amtrak P42DC No. 184 leads P067, the "Twilight Shoreliner," southbound on the RF&P Subdivision in Alexandria, Virginia on 25 April 2011.

Wow Jeff. Three of the heritage units on different trains on the same day. Nice catch.

Yeah, I can spend days at Alexandria seeing the same normal units.  Real nice catches.

Thanks guys. It was a lucky day as I only took off thinking I would catch the circus train and here I get 3 Heritage Units.

It was a long day in Berea today with an hour break due to rain, 7 blocked trains  >:( , and both Lake Shore Limiteds during the day. Saw that there was a derailment on the CSX Mohawk Sub in NY that led to the late LSLs. Caught 2 more NS SD70ACe to add to the 2 from yesterday and power from BNSF, UP, CN(IC), the same CEFX(SOO) unit from the other day, and 2 more Oakway Leasors. Train highlight was a X984 windmill blade train.

The good, the bad, and the ugly - my visit to Cheyenne in 2005 (old, but still among my favorites):

The good...A ride on 844 as she steamed toward the Steam Shop:

The bad...Ex-C&NW F7A #401 and Ex-Amtrak F7B next to the turntable:

The ugly...An E8/9 used for spares on UP's E-Unit pair:

Cheers!
