Finally played with my Bachmann 4-6-0. It is a pretty much dead on match for the Ma&Pa 4-6-0's except Bachmann raised the boiler/cab up about 16 inches to fit the motor in there. I ground away at the frame and inside of the body till I got it down about 10 inches lower. Still much to do:

Have a Bachmann slope-back tender frame with a MP 4-4-0 shell on it, but man even that is way too big so I will be scratchbuilding a tender for it.

Downtown from a slightly different perspective.

You may notice building on right corner is different.

Bill, I'm drooling over that Havelock car - outstanding; stunning work !
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

DKS: I routinely check out your G&D blog.  Your progress and innovative techniques are very inspiring.

This week I stayed on schedule by completing the rock carving along the 20' section of scenery and casting the large retaining wall at Fife.  I even got a bit a head of schedule by starting to colour the rocks at the railroad-East end of the scene.

Next week I would like to finish the rock colouring and get the basic ground cover started.

Chris, that loco is looking pretty spiffy. Does it still pull comparatively despite the loss of some weight?

I had my last high school classes last week, so I celebrated with a day train watching.

Hi, all,

Busy life means I rarely have time to photo/post any more, but this week made the time.

Thanks to the magic of internet buy/sell of model railroad N scale equipment, my N scale
Santa Fe Peavine line has a new equipment upgrade.

The smokestack is the on/off switch, has wire grabirons and correct window-blanks:

Thanks to my friend Randgust for the model :-).  It's truly a work of miniature mobile interactive art.

Thanks to some borrowed technology, I present to you some dusty old video of my first foray into code 55 track, large scenery:train ratios and yes, the Western Maryland Railway.

The footage was shot by this young punk...
