Transamerica Leasing, Xtra Lease, Preferred 45' / Preferred 102 all had multiple schemes on your 45' Fruehauf trailer.

The absence of these schemes on these cars is almost criminal!!!

You could also do the 48' Fruehauf trailer for Schneider National in 2 schemes too!!!

Even though there are various 2-bay covered hoppers out there (Atlas, Kato, Deluxe Innovations), the detail is still bulky and old style. The AC&F began production of such a car in 1947 and by 1952 had sold to 48 different roads. This was a standard mass-produced design. With today's tooling, an MTL version would blow the others out of the water--or off the layout, whatever.

I'll second carbon black hoppers.  The less than 3600 cuft capacity (from the 40's through early 60's) type specifically.  The early paint schemes were pretty catchy (for a black car) and would probably sell well.  This might also be a car that could be offered as  an undec since painting one would be easy and decals for the less appealing repaints would not be difficult.

Far more than a dozen, if you follow up on the cabs shown on these two pages... a lot of the more modern paint schemes for smaller, second hand owners (including UP by way of C&NW) are not included... (can help find photos for more modern times, an advantage of being the RR Caboose List owner...)

Not sure about some sort of mail conversion for troop sleepers, save for storage mail, but having a way to fill the windows would indeed be welcome, as would baggage- and boxcar-type doors... the few baggage - mail cars that B&M created were soon rebuilt to full baggage.  A way of plugging windows would help a lot of modelers who want to model MofW cars, C&O being the biggest user but many other lines also having them (that is, outside of the southeast, where such cars just didn't settle except for ex-MONON cars on the L&N).

Thought of one that is definately odd-ball, one road, but would be REALLY cool and some would get at least one just because.  Modern modelers of any road could use a train of up to four.

Easy: multiple number packs of your existing 100T Bethlehem three bay hopper.  It seems kinda silly to offer a unit train car like this in a single number.  36, 48 or more numbers in 6 or 12 packs would be a great start.

More involved: a new N scale body mount coupler that uses a common existing box but has a Z scale sized head and (most importantly) no slinky effect.

            A heavyweight Solarium observation car like the Walthers HO car.Union Pacific ran a bunch of them. I too would vote for a transfer caboose of some sort. Also truss rod era freight cars to go with the B Mann Ten Wheeler. Nate Goodman (Nato). Salt Lake, Utah.

Alex,

Working on research now to offer a few of our cars without roofwalks and lower ladders.  Trying to see if we can change out roofs and sides without dipping too deep in the savings account.  I'll be posting on trainboard later tonight.   We have three cars in the works now and just added another one with two different sides.  We also have banked artwork for a few more cars we can get in the que.  Right now we are busy just tring to get our new vendor up to speed.   Hang tight.

I understand Railwire.com is primarily N-scale, but I have to ask...

Joe... Are you going to pose this same question to the Z-scale community (Z Central Station)? A lot of folks are tired of see 40' and 50' boxcars every month with ROOFWALKS.    Those same folks would greatly appreciate seeing some of the N-scale body-styles made available in Z. If MTL had put out tank-cars, PS2 hoppers, and such... we wouldn't have to get ripped off with poor quality and over priced rolling-stock from a certain other supplier. >
