Is it fiber optic and really part of a larger camera?

I'm a bit suprised because they can make cameras that small, but not a non-axial 1.5 volt bulb close to the same size...

If N scale had good SD40-2s, C30-7s, U30Cs, SD45s, SD40s, and SW10s; I'd be in N scale.

There's a bit more detail here: http://www.medigus.com/NEWS/2011/SmallestVideo2011/News.aspx

According to that press release, "A dedicated 0.66x0.66 mm CMOS sensor provides high image resolution at 45,000 pixels." So it really is a very very small camera, not just a fiber-optic "head."

My question would be, now that this is out, where can we get the previous-generation cameras at fire-sale prices? Something ten times this size would still be significantly smaller than my current train-cam...

Micro-photo-etching a silicon chip is a hugely different process than physically blowing glass. Anyway, who needs a big old tungsten lamp that'll burn out when you can get 0402 (and eventually 0201) white LEDs?

They are disposable. We just need to go dumpster diving in the bio hazard stuff at the local hospital.

But they have axials that small, so I was curious as to the non-axials. But yeah, it's different. I was wanting a 1.5v bulb that small for a project, but I didn't know about 0402 or 0201 LEDs. Those will work, but I just need a source for ones pre-wired with magnet wire since I only need a couple.

That's funny. I have a medical waste disposal company just down the street. Plus I work at a hospital. Don't think I'll be going after one of those.

Scale
security cameras really ought to cut down on pilferage at my container yard.  Unfortunately the guard in the gate shack is usually asleep.  He is practicing for that air traffic controller job he applied for...
