Next from Trainworx - corrugated trailers

The next Trainworx TOFC release is Union Pacific in brown w/yellow print (F-70-2, new Jan 1959).

Also being released is a 40' corrugated trailer both in standard and refrigerated configurations, long missing in N scale.  Initial releases include PFE and four UP schemes.  All six items will be released in six road numbers.

Those are great trailers; very similar to the Can Car trailers Tim commisioned for a bunch of us....











We had lots of fun with these kits.

I wonder if any of those CanCar trailer kits are still available.  I sourced the etchings for the masters on that project, and was surprised how nice they came out.  But I never picked up a finished kit!

Ya know, ten years ago I probably wouldn't have cared as much, but after much research, besides a decent PS-1 40'er (c'mon BLMA!), the refrigerated trailer is probably the single most numerous piece of CGW equipment needed to model the mid to late 60's.  Trailers are 5th behind empties (of course), corn, lumber and paper on the train lists (south).  And it's probably only second behind the tank cars as most recognizable to the CGW.  So I do have a preference that they be correct.  I'm certainly up for taking one apart to see what can be used.

But let it be said here first that the CGW logo isn't really 34" like it says in the Morning Sun book.
