MTL February N scale releases

Kinda bummed about the 4427's too. Joe never did post any test shots, maybe they had a tooling issue. I mean, I'd hate too think Eric put the 4427's off for amonth to tool giraffe heads and make sure he released the presidents caboose.

So not even close to a PRR class?  Then my wallet can breathe a little...  I'm foobed enough with my "M70 (minus 10)" baggage car.

I retract my initial assessment.  Blue Stone was a Plan 3416A (as opposed to a straight 3416) 28-1 parlor painted for Pennsy, but with ice-cooled A/C.  The car number was 7062, but it appears in the photo in the 2/2011 Micro-News that "7052" is what is printed on the model.  So the parlor is a lot closer to the Pennsy prototype than the RPO is.

Isn't the MTL model based on a Plan 3416 no-suffix (assigned to NYC)?  Pennsy had 42 Plan 3416 parlors, albeit all with ice A/C.

Also, J.G.Whittier technically is a Plan 3410B, which I think is different from a 3410 in the height of the bathroom windows.  It's passable, but there were 84 Pennsy 3410 cars that would have been dead on (other than the A/C type).

I'm going to wait until August and procure a single car from one of the 10-1-2 runner packs.  I may also pick up the 12-1 Whittier and change the name so it is a valid 3410 (although the a/c is still an issue).  The minor artwork issues of the January PRR 10-1-2 were corrected with the February PRR 12-1 and 28-1 releases

This is just what I need to haul some plywood from the Pacific NW to lumberyards in Milwaukee. I have always liked the Yin Yang logo and the large NP initials. Curious whether this is an accurate paint job for this car, but it really isn't a deal breaker for me.

It's a foob.  All of the NP's modern dbl. door boxcars had the doors centered on the sides and had improved dreadnaught 3/4 non-terminating ends, either Pullman or Stanray diagonal panel roofs with overhanging eaves.  I think the MT car represents a car built probably post '74 or so.

Thanks for the info guys. I thought the car looked too modern for the NP but it is a great looking paint scheme. Too bad they didn't do the Ply-Pack lettering on the door. The green color seems too light compared to the photos from Pudd's link but I may still spring for one of these as my chances of building an accurate one are quite low.
