Who
was your N scale hero of 2010?
Craig Martyn, for the trucks I adore, even if the spine cars aren't here yet...

I appreciate Craig's work, most certainly. The new gons, the P-S 4000s and the upcoming F89Js offer a lot of hope for quality N scale.
But if I only have one vote to give it goes to Bob Knight @ TrainCat. More than how much he's opened up the N scale market to the possibility of affordable prototype-specific models, he's making headway into a tech that's accessible to others. By showing it can be done, there's the possibility for more mini-Bobs to enter the scene. As an example, look what Chris333 and Dave Schneider are doing. It's too bad injection molding isn't as accessible.

The biggest event of the year for me was ESM's XIH boxcar. It really got me re-interested in model railroading this year.

Thanks for the kind words Bryan, but my hero for the year is Bryan Bussey from ESM who took the time to teach me how to layout my etching artwork and for recommending a great commercial vendor. I still haven't integrated my sides with the body but I wouldn't have gotten vary far without his help. Thanks again!
Best wishes, Dave

Even though Bachmann gets bashed by several folks– I gotta give'em props for what they've done in 2010...
A ten-wheeler.
The GP7.
The 70-tonner.
3 brand new loco designs that were released in '10. Kudos for Bachmann.
And what Bluford Shops is doing for hoppers... Just remarkable with the variety of road names and the wide number of hoppers offered for each road.
I picked up a couple of the Woodland Scenic semi-built structures and I'm impressed with the amount of doo-dads they offer with each structure along with instructions that are very detailed.
And special props for Scenic Express. Those folks keep adding more & more goodies to their product line that keep advancing the bar as far as how realistic-looking you can make your scenery.

Intermountain for doing the SD40-2W. A nice model, lots of improvement, and the balls to do a very limited appeal model. Thumbs way up!

Guys,Maybe I'm in the odd seat but,I think all manufacturers has done a good job overall.
Athearn's annoucement of a Southern caboose made them my hero.
I can now buy 2-3 more Southern locomotives.. ;D

Atlas remains my hero.
Cheap and available parts, undecorated models, little to no glue used in assembly, and the most consistant quality on paint schemes.
