I'm aware of the colormark of 1964. Specifically, the scheme on the hopper with the "grain" image/panel on the MTL car above.

Oddball has a decal for a PS2 dating to 2-74 (but green instead of blue as on the MTL car) with the "grain" panel:

OK, I got off my duff  ;D and found a Jim Sands pic from 1969 in that scheme, so I guess it was built that way in 1967. (Joe, sorry for the skepticism!)

I guess next question would be how close is the Evans to the class represented by 70463 - here's 70233 which might be the same series:

I'm definitely in for those heavyweights!  Hopefully I'll have a functioning PSC brass K4 back to me soon, as it's out for repairs and DCC install.

Try this/

Jerry had pages specifically on the MTL cars, I don't see a link on his photo pages either...

Just go to the source.

Bah, Jerry's page would have been faster.  But, since you called me out I went to the source: Villa Royal was a rebuilt Plan 3411A 10-3 sleeper.

Which sucks, because PRR really did have Plan 3585 10-1-2 sleepers in the Lake series.

MTL has not yet offered a prototypical scheme on their 10-1-2.  And there's so many neat schemes to do!

Umm,

But of course, that car wouldn't have been there.

These seven cars is what the MTL model is correct for, Plan-3585 with mechanical A/C:  Lake Arthur, Lake Merritt, Lake Maitland, Lake Auburn, Lake Girard, Lake Stearns.

The runner pack contains Maitland, Merrit and Stearns, so the August 2011 release will be accurate.

Pennsy did have a whopping 211 of the Plan-3410 and variants, but only eleven 12-1 sleepers are correct for the MTL model.

Pennsy and their damn ice A/C units.  Throws you off getting the correct 12-1 cars.  However, if and when they come out with the PRR 12-1, close enough is good for me in this case.

The SLTHS has a drawing of a 4427 painted with the blue band and the "Colormark" script dated to 1964. I have no idea how correct the MTL hopper is yet.

The Soo Line car is a Magor car the mtl is an Evans. Not even close to the same car but "similar" in shape...

So how do they differ?

.....and it's not easy finding the right decals to make SOO passenger yourself... or; does anyone have a source...?

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!
