N scale of Nevada molds for sale?!?!

Specifically, what parts of the line are you all clamoring for?  We will do additional detail parts, but all most likely in brass or plastic (thus utilizing new designs/masters/tooling).

The SP light packages. 1.)NSN made a one piece casting for the short low hood Katos.  You just cut off the the end of the nose of the plastic shell and than glue the casting to shell.  Also just the bracket and just the lights for the short hood nose. 2.)Also there rear light package. 3.)Number board casting for GP & SD cabs. 4.) HTB truck side frames.  Pretty esoteric stuff.  I would love them in plastic.

IIRC John Coots made a statement about the condition of these molds some years ago in a Piggy Packer discussion thread on this or another forum (ATL, TB).

Yeah, it certainly wasn't a lack of demand that stopped John from re-releasing the Piggy-Packer.

BTW there was one on eBay last month.... they've been going cheap lately, along with the GHQ Mi-Jack.

John's (RIP) stuff was good for it's time .. but rather than bring back a bunch of molds that may not be in the best of shape, maybe its time for another company to meet the demand with new tooling and up to date production methods

The decal overlays would be cool. Did 12 FEC hoppers with them and they look as good like as MT.

Boxcar/reefer/stock cars end, roof, and door replacements; shortened ladders and tack boards

That is an interesting legacy to leave behind.

When I visited John a few years ago, the stack of molds seemed like it filled a whole room. I wonder if they got rid of some. BTW John was a very gracious host.

As long as we're talking detail parts lines that need to be picked up by someone, it would be nice to see the stuff Sunrise Enterprises used to do available again.  Just my unsolicited $.02.

I'd love to do it, but there's just too much on my plate right now. And I'm afraid that some manufacturing techniques that would make good products have been lost. I explored this with "the Old Coot" a few years ago, and it just didn't work out. We became good Internet friends. John was headed to my house in Albuquerque during his ill-fated motorcycle trip during record heat in the Mohave desert. RIP, you old Coots!

Looks like the auction got pulled.   Shows 0 items at $99 and ended.  Hopefully the seller got a deal from someone who's going to use the molds, or at least try.

BTW I got a lot of Sunrise/NSN stuff a while back and some of it looks like masters of the EMD noses (and a GE), numberboards, and some small parts.  The parts are lead/pewter and these are brass.  There was also a small box of the body mount adapters.  I've used some and traded some.  The masters I have no clear picture of what to do with. ???

Unless there is a problem with the listing I don't think you can just end an auction.

Maybe the home owners freaked when they saw what it was going for and reclaimed them.
