Ooh, that's the Piggy Packer mold front and center of the third shot. I'd love to have at least one of those.

A

What's the bid up to?   I hope someone gets them and starts production again.    I could do it, But depends on the price.

A whopping $102.

Man, if this had been listed three months from now, I'd snap it up in a heartbest...

You pay for the drive and I'll do it. That would make me temporarily employed, briefly, right? That would definitely help my mood.

I do have family close by, and I know a railroad (museum) even closer, that would probably be able to ship it anywhere.
Can't model worth a darn, but can research like an SOB.

The seller seems ready and willing to arrange shipping, but as he points out, even with general freight charges, it's gonna run around 1/2 grand. The thing I would be concerned about is proper packing of the molds so they survive the move. Especially in winter in a non-climatized box trailer, conditions in which mold material will become less pliable and more susceptible to jostling and vibration (most LTL shippers don't have air-ride suspensions on their trailers).

Like sirenwerks, I would be concerned about how heat/cold has affected these molds as they sat in a shed near Reno for all these years......
IIRC John Coots made a statement about the condition of these molds some years ago in a Piggy Packer discussion thread on this or another forum (ATL, TB).

There is a spin caster near by that makes architechture parts. This would be REALLY easy to get into production here.

I have access to one. Which is why I'm really interested. But the timing is bad.

It's not terribly far from Craig... I wonder if he's interested in getting into line of stuff.  Doubtful considering the labor intensiveness of it, it seems he's moved beyond that in the past few years.  But it'd be a good home and get instant wide marketability.

Not far, but not very close either...

Specifically, what parts of the line are you all clamoring for?  We will do additional detail parts, but all most likely in brass or plastic (thus utilizing new designs/masters/tooling).

I think the Piggy Packer would be a good one .. but all the other stuff - I can pass on
