I think it says Green Bay, WI... seems to be five letters for the first, then three letters for the second words. I can't think of another WI location that matches 5 & 3.

I'll buy that.  So someone could probably narrow down the industry on the CNW that would need load restraining devices on a cushioned car at or near Green Bay.

There must be a list that tells the story but I suppose that could be somewhat of a double edge sword.  But if for nothing else, you could find the car numbers with no assignment.

It looks like the Rail Yard Models LV version of the car has it's assignment on the car.

Out of my era as you know, but that is some sweet engineering!

Ditto, but in the other direction (post-2000).  :)

Bryan, those extended pockets will be real eye catchers.  Do you anticipate that they will forward compatible with couplers we might anticipate in the same time frame?

Cheers,
Gary

Gary, you'll be able to justify the NS cars (post 2000) when they are released.

The coupler pockets will be a plastic/brass hybrid variation of the MTL 1015 coupler box, which can house any of the three currently available brands of operating knuckle couplers.  If any future couplers are designed to function in a 1015 box, they will function on any ESM model.

Excellent!  Found a shot from late-2007, with conspicuity stripes no less:

This could be the only boxcar in my fleet with a high brake wheel.  :)

Manufacturers, take note.

NS 650126 happens to be one of the cars that will be replicated on the high-brakewheel no-roofwalk variation of the model.  With conspicuity stripes, but without the graffiti.
