I do think it's kind of funny... The "tripod" was something I literally threw together in five minutes the morning before I drove down to Lee's, and when I posted the pics of it, I honestly thought people would make jokes about it...

Ha , I noticed that camera support , but said nothing David . I have used an angle bracket and a C clamp for a few shots in the past , but nothing as useful as that setup . I am glad others said something and you shared shots of it . I will build one myself , or something close .

I'm thinking it needs a name. It's not a tripod in the strictest sense... quadpod would be more accurate... lowpod is a little more descriptive of how it supports the camera just inches above the ground...

I'm going to make another one that holds the camera horizontally.

Maybe I should market them...

My vote goes to QuadPod.  But to be more descriptive, you should add some inane technical sounding jargon...  But I'm drawing a blank.  Maybe someone can help...

You mean, like:

It consists of one 5-inch angle bracket and two 6-inch flat brackets, bolted together with 10-24 flat-head screws and nuts, plus four rubber feet. I also applied a piece of self-stick felt pad to the bracket to help hold the camera secure, since it would otherwise come loose too easily.
