Looks like we are watching the Kader effect take places. Looks like allot of manufacturer were really bent over by there stop production announcement before the N-scale conversion. Hopefully the productions issues get resolve by the Ihobby show in October so that we could see some new stuff next year.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

No doubt it is having some effect. Probably on Athearn the most. The Atlas issues might clear up a bit. Money issues might also have a big effect.

Andy, what FVM special paint jobs?

Too hot to bounce off the walls here. I was really only hoping to hear if Exactrail would do those SOU wafflesides...

What annoys me is that we're hearing nothing - not even "I went to Intermountain and there was nothing new".  Or the silly Exactrail Facebook "we'll be posting all our hot news right here - sometime..."

Lots of posts on this "silence" topic around the web, so it's not just me!

It's unfortunate that most of the "correspondents" are reporting primarily on the HO scale products at the expense of the other scales.  But information has dripped out here and there - Bachmann's new items, BLMA's reefer, Walthers' hopper, FVM Hiawatha bodyshell test shots, WOT baggage cars, etcetera.  Most likely the N scale news will become better known in the coming week.

N-scale Suppy is showing some new Atlas announcements - no new tooling, but re-runs of the SD50 and FM Trainmasters.

The Atlas 2010 Summer Catalog has been up on the Atlas website since Friday; that's why I didn't expect any big announcements from them this weekend.

According to the MRH blog, there will be photos of the various N scale products posted in their final show report.

versus:

Is it just me or does the tender look shorter in height? All other recognizable details pan out to the oversized "medium" tender. Its most likely the angle of the tender versus the loco. Could anyone who is at the show take another side photo in focus?

Also noted that it looks like the side rod is one complete etching versus the previous photo too.

Siderod probably just got bent. You can see the middle and rear driver are pinned, but the front driver floats on it's own (so it has to be geared).  It was also noted that the 4-6-0 was non working because their motors are still being built.

Tender looks the same to me.

Also the first release (November) will be DCC equipped and they said the reason for the big tender was to hold the DCC board. There will be other releases without DCC and maybe a smaller tender.

Bachmann already has a shorter (both in height and length) tender that is DCC ready. Not sure what the B'Mann rep was talking about when he told someone at the show that they needed the larger tender for DCC.......

DCC ready is not DCC equipped  ;)

I'm just stating what the Bachmann said:
