Awesome work as always guys.



 Over the last few months I've been rebuilding my door layout to more closely reflect the C&O mountain subdivision. In the past I've just attempted to capture the "feel" of the line, but recently I have felt like modeling exact prototype locations. The photo above was take before the I started reconstruction. First up on the list of proto spots is Little Rock tunnel.





I still have to get the colors right, and maybe do a bit more plaster carving, but its getting there.

Wow!!! This is an amazing photo with first rate scene design, modeling, and photography. The landforms are wonderfully conceived and built. Great job!!!

Caleb, you are setting the gold standard--and early at that. It will be most interesting to see what you're doing 10-20 years from now. (I hope I live that long!)

Not much progress other than the curved turnout installation and some wiring.  Installed my first DCC turnout control, surprisingly simple, and fun to operate.  I may be doing more of this...  

The high bridge has taken on its new configuration, so I need one more 80' girder span, but I can improvise until I get to Klein's again.

Work stalled over the weekend for all the right reasons...  rode bikes with #1 daughter, then played rummy on the screen porch, followed by air hockey in the attic listening to Bill Cosby records with the kids...  Start spreadin' that Jello!  the Chicken Heart is outside your door!

to get the high iron red color, put steel wool in a cup of water then wait a week for the wool to rust.  let some of the water evaporate off and use it like water colors.

Great work Caleb.  There's a certain satisfaction that comes with modeling specific scenes.  Warning:  Once you've done it, it's hard to go back to creating "the feel" of a place.  Again, great work.  I'm looking forward to seeing the layout progress.
