Bridge Pier mold... Looks like something you'd see at Cape Canaveral


First Pour.  I tinted the plaster of paris with some acrylic craft paints... might be a shade dark.  But at least now white chips and chunks!



Looks a bit more like a fudgecicle than concrete, but that's what weathering is for!  Also note the double track width...  Even though this wasn't practiced on the Thomas Sub, it will make the high bridge look more legit.

Next one is in the soup now.

Hardly.  But may I vent for just a moment?  I've got a committee that's supposed to find a location for this store I'm getting paid to manage... So far they've picked every nit there is to pick in Talbot County.  I've got a truck full of donated items, four storage units full of donated items, 5 to 6 calls a day for new donated items, and I can't get off square one to have a place to sell it all.  So while I'm waiting for a meeting tomorrow afternoon to look at yet ANOTHER empty building, I work on the layout.

It's sort of like a hunger strike, only I get to have all the sausage and beer I want!

The mold is reusable!  For some reason the second pier is taking forever to set up.  Must be that chinese concrete...

Why not try anchor bolt cement. Not that heavy and works great. I'm now building all my bridge piers and abutments with it.
