Pardon my ignorance on fonts, but is "futura bold font" the font for Conrail reporting marks?  Is this what you need to create your own custom road numbers?  I have been splicing MicroScale sets together for my Conrail fleet for 20 years, and applying one decal rather than up to eight for a road number and end number would be most welcome.  Do any of you guys print your own custom Conrail decals?  Any insight is appreciated.  Thanks.

I got the font. Thanks guys. I am getting a custom decal sheet printed with CR X72 reporting marks along with the car numbers for my tank car project. If anyone else is interested, let me know. We can probably combine an order and save some money.

The proper size for CR reporting marks is 6 point font for the side numbers and 3 for the car ends. This matches up with the MS decal sheets perfectly.

I checked my Corel Draw fonts and found 16 versions of Futura. This could get confusing.

You probably want to experiement, since there are multiple versions around of Futura and not all of them are exactly alike.

Also, in a program like Illustrator (maybe Draw too...)  you can easily manipulate the fonts to match much more closely.

Futura (or something like it) seems to be very, very common these days on a lot of freight cars, but its a slightly condensed (x direction smushed) version.
