If N scale had good SD40-2s, C30-7s, U30Cs, SD45s, SD40s, and SW10s; I'd be in N scale.

The story I've heard is that DRGW was scrapping them, and PC bought them for spare parts. When they were delivered, PC found they were in much better shape than their own units, so a quick patch job and into service they went.
