Roof hatches on CR or PC ex-NYC ACF Ceterflows??

I'm building a kit of an ACF centerflow, and it gives me the option to put individual or through hatches. The only issue is that the directions never mentioned which type they had. The car in question is NYC #892012 and is jade green.

I'm guessing through hatches based on the bit of research I did on the CRHS site and the Conrail Cyclopedia. Most of the photos do suggest through hatches for CR centerflows, but I haven't found one that labels a car as ex-NYC and clearly shows through hatches. Am I correct in my assumptions?

I would also like to patch and weather the car for the PC or CR someday; So I'm curious a s to did that group of NYC cars retain their road numbers into the Conrail or Penn Central era?

If N scale had good SD40-2s, C30-7s, U30Cs, SD45s, SD40s, and SW10s; I'd be in N scale.
