Anyone lower a MTL TOFC?

Anyone lower a TOFC? How did you do it? I have 6 I would like to lower and update to a triple 28 version.

I wrote an article on lowering the MTL auto racks in the Nov/Dec 2007 issue of NSR, and there was an article on close-coupling MTL/RC auto racks in the previous issue.  Never tried the them on the MTL TOFC model, but theoretically the same techniques could be applied.

I followed the techniques that Tom Mann once posted and lowered a MTL 40' Hi-Cube
boxcar (that model *really* needs the lowering):

Nice pics John.  Really makes me wonder -- why can't MT at least make a "lowering friendly" car, that doesn't need all that grinding for wheel clearance?   That's a key reason why I've basically stopped buying MT cars, even tho they have a lot of other good points.
