"China" Stamped on the bottom makes this a $10 car tops!

No, no, it "screams" $10 car.

... Will the Conrail cars have roof walks or no?

BAR/NH SoM - w/roofwalk, w/heater
BAR repaint - w/roofwalk, heater status depends on specific car
NH repaint - w/roofwalk, w/o heater
PC - w/roofwalk, w/o heater
CR - w/o roofwalk, w/o heater

All variations have high brakewheel/ladders regardless.

Brian, that is one beautiful looking car! I probably don't need any on a southern Ontario based railway in the late 1980's, but I just might grab one or two... just in case I backdate to the 1970's.

By the way, BAR did a later repaint, all brown with white letters, heater removed.  Used in paper service. Here's a link - http://users.silcon.com/~lgoss/barpage6.htm

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Yes, I'm aware of this scheme.  I probably won't do it because it has the brake hardware and ladders lowered (the only version where this occurred) with a basic bare-bones paint scheme, and juxtaposed with the other more colorful BAR schemes I don't think it would sell.

The irony of my assessment is that the plain-Jane NH repaint scheme has the most reservations of all the schemes in the first release.  Go figure.

Well, it's a scheme that is good for late NH, PC, and early CR(?). This scheme is actually the most common on the NH, and it is rarely offered. Usually you see script, orange, black schemes. There are several iteration of the "State of Maine" car. None as good as your's, and some wildly inaccurate.  But the basic boxcar red cars are rarely offered.
