I'm not a wheel designer, but I wonder why it is so hard for the model wheel to resemble the prototype wheel?  I mean, even the MT pizza cutters [in n scale] have a closer to real life profile?

So, what made AZL change their 36" wheel?  Will they do the same with their 33"?

AZL gives David Smith a lot of credit for helping them push their wheel sets further. They read David's review and took the findings back to their manufacturers. AZL is striving to be the best for quality and detail. I really like the fact that they are willing to continue to improve products as new runs are produced. This is really telling when you look at the new tank cars.

So kudos to David.

Note, the new wheels are also being used on the auto-racks. I am not sure yet on the 33" wheels, but I will mention it to AZL.

Nice work David K. Smith!!  The wheels are very well done, we just need to be able to buy them separately.

Rob, my only complaints with the tank cars is the brake wheel, and the lack of detail on the trucks.  Otherwise, they are great.

Tom, I didn't really notice the break wheel until I saw your photo. I agree and will mention it to AZL. I have mentioned the trucks before but their hands are tied on these for now. But I will keep it on their radar. I can't wait to run a unit train of these cars! It will be amazing. A new roadname is planned for December.

Rob, I am surpriced that you didnt notice it. Its the same brake wheel on all AZL cars.

I think more distracting then the brakewheel it's self, is the total lack of any other brake rigging... not even a "blob" for the brakewheel to be mounted to...
