I've seriously pondered manufacturing a set of etched grilles for the MP15DC.

Anyway, here's the model fresh out of the paint shop and ready fo decals...

Here's the Flexicoil sideframes painted and ready for installation....



I plan on sanding-down the stock Con-Cor sideframes so there's just a thin surface and then attach these directly to them.

Here's more progress on the shell. Windows, sunshades, wipers, handrails and weathering have been added....

Bitchin.  I have a couple of pairs of those MBE Flexicoils but no SW-1500's. :(  Very inspiring.

Murphy's Law of kitbashing is that an Atlas/Kato/Athearn/etc. will announce your exact model a short time after you've finished it. Russ, you have truly transcended that curse because a commercial model can't possibly rise to the level of execution you have here. Great... no, fantastic work.

I did fine an annoying flaw, tho'. It should be numbered in the high 2400's, and be sublettered "Los Angeles".   ;D

(You've made me a little homesick - I grew-up surrounded by these things.)

Wow, superb job Russ. Kinda hard to model SP in the 70's, 80's and 90's without SW1500's.

Some feel all the detail effort on models is not appreciated outside of a contest setting (rolling stock or power rolls by and one can't focus on it).

In this case, the details will grab your eyeballs and hold the focus for some time. Hope you don't have too many accidents with people forgetting where they are while watching this baby.
