John, the cars will have die-cast metal spines and plastic add-on parts.  I don't think they'll have a problem tracking, loaded or empty...

Interesting
difference in the MSRP.  While I could possibly justify the 53' cars easier the price leads e to the 57' variety...

Since I have 10 sets of Alan Curtis's spinecars I have all I need for the foreseeable future so Graig will not be getting any of MY pension funds. ;D (at least not for these)

I have the AC spine cars too.  This is raising the bar.  I will get at least a couple of sets.
