Noob "Here".Big fan of Micro layouts.2x4 footers and smaller.I gotta get a picture of my current build but here is the track plan with some crappy MS paint I did in the planning stages.Scrap yard,team track of sorts and the Allied rebuilders shop which I ain't sure what will be named.Roads laided and painted,Rough scenery done,Scrap yard semi finished.The yard is laid but nothing on that side of the divider touched other than track.Just bought a T-scale set.Can't wait to get it in and see what kinda micro-Micro-Layout I can build.Thinking of a simple extended length oval with dual S curves,Mountian on one end,rear track hiden,Bridge crossing deep valley(in 1:450....that should be about 4"  ;D....)Maybe a small farm and pond on the other end from mountain.Looks like 1x4 foot.Might make it a 3 peice.pair of 1x2 footers with a center removable 1x4 foot extention section when I want to get long.



Oh yea,ZOX......Wanna sell me that Mexican MDT switcher Yet?

Don't you remember about 10-15 years ago on AOHELL you talking about having a little Rainbow colored Mexican made N scale switcher that just wouldn't die?.....Don't you remember Lord Zox......SP UP RR.....AKA SP RR!

No,I honestly just ordered a Starter Oval,6 extra pieces of Straight track,a S curve set(one left one right)and a 4 car train set.I don't think it will be a real big seller like N scale.I expect it to be like Z gauge.But you never know.Kinda a interesting concept.I hope someone comes out with more trains and especially US prototype trains.Imagine a Bigboy pulling a 100car reefer train in T gauge.Also,Imagine what you could build in 4x8 foot or better yet an entire basement empire....You could model Entire european countries in a basement!

Nice plan...If hobby shops and clubs introduced this hobby to newbies with these
kinds of layouts, the learning curve and love for the hobby would collide. I have
seen better smaller layouts here (Railwire) than the large layouts in periodicals.

I thought that was what you meant, but I wasn't sure. Unfortunately, the little sucker did die eventually--when you can see wire ends sticking out of the motor armature, it's time for a cleric, not a medic. It's still in my basement somewhere.

If I ever find it again, I may take the insides from one of the new Bachmann 44-tonners and see if it'll fit--heck, the shell might just drop over the entire Bachmann locomotive...

Too bad more clubs don't do like The CVMRRC did several years ago.We built a new portable N scale layout.Divided up into 18"x48" sections.Each member that wanted one got a section after the trackage was laid.We could build what we wanted on it.We did have to get with each other and figure out road placements but that was pretty much it.People build everything from a large city on the end section(which was actually 2x8 foot),Coal mine,A horse shoe river valley with double bridges,farms,Saw mill,Etc.My section has a truck stop which I went nuts detailing.A new freeway being built crossing the old highway running beside the main line(road bed graded and bridge beams being placed).Got a rail line crossing at a 60degree angle of the main line(Finally found a use for those Readers Digest trains that you can never get away from!) with a semi truck being hit by said train.One day I will get a good picture of my module.I sent all out on it.I spend $300+ on one crossing.NJ over the road working lights with 4 sensor optical pickup detection units on Dual main line plus flasher,bell,and power supply.Was a big hit for about a year and a half 2 years will something got fried and only one light would flash on both signals and half the time it wouldn't shut off......But anyway......The way we did it got everyone involved with the layouta and everyone got a section small enough they wouldn't get overwelmed and big enough they could go to town on.Kinda like N-Trak without the tripple track main line stuff(which,I never fully understood why they went tripple.....)
