Not only is that shot with the RF&P GP35 on the point hawt, but it's the exact picture I was looking for on the web yesterday to add to this thread before being sidetracked by, of all things, work.  And how about the former SCL Baby Boat and the other Seaboard System U-Boat in the consist in addition to the RF&P units?  Nice.  Thanks for sharing, Steve!

As far as I'm concerned, the 1st shot is worthy of printing, framing, & saving
for Christmas decoration.

Sure, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but that SBD SD45 is a beautiful thing to me.  I sure do love those 40-series EMD units (four or six-axle).  Thanks for sharing, Brian!

P.S. Lee's brain will explode once he clicks on the other link and spies the WM SD40 in Chessie System paint.

Steve,

A lot of people agree with you, but, for some reason that I can't explain, those Jolly Green Giants just never did it for me.  But then I always liked the pre-1957 purple and silver of the Atlantic Coast Line, so draw your own conclusions.  ;)

I do, however, recognize the location of the picture as Richmond, Virginia and the tracks are the beginning of the James River Branch of the RF&P, which connected to the Seaboard Coast Line (former ACL) at Pier 5 of the James River Bridge.  Acca Yard is in the background.
