The painting is pretty good, if a bit basic. People really seem to want variety with fire apparatus. I think we need a good ladder truck available RTR.

Pre 1960 transition era in red would be very welcome . Just whose butt would be best to set ablaze to get the best product ?

Athearn maybe? They already have a couple trucks that could be used for the
chassis. Just need some tooling of the fire apparatus used on the chassis.

And I'm all in for pre sixties stuff!!!!

Some things I think would sell well:

Mack B cab pumper
Mack B open cab ladder
Seagrave ladder

Modern E-One pumper (would use the same body as the Athearn pumper
Modern E-One ladder/quint

The high bids got me. The GHQ kits can be purchased for as little as $15 each.

I think we need more fire trucks so I can accurately model a scene showing our local VFC tending to a minor accident on Route 50.  I'd need to have every single truck they own, including the rescue boat on a trailer (just in case) and the Salvation Army van, which would show up to dispense ice water and free pizza. 

Of course, there'd be two actual paramedics working on the victims, and 45 overweight guys in fire man suits queing up for the pizza.  I'd also want to get a sound chip so I can simulate the conversation where the fire fighters complain that the police department hasn't shown up to direct traffic around their 900 vehicles.

When I was growing up in central PA the ambulance they used in town were large Cadillac wagons (looked like a hearse) and not the common box trucks used today.  I would like some models of these to go with the early fire trucks.

I'd take some modern E-Ones or ALF's

My primary employer buys 95% E-Ones. All I can say is blech!  :-\   At my other non-RR gig, I get to drive an ALF. It drives like a Cadillac but I hate looking at it.

My wants, if I were to eventually model a modern scene, would be Pierces or Seagraves.

I would proudly ante up a kidney for C or CF model Macks, mid 80's Hahns, or any cab-over Seagrave.

Note that I referred to the real paramedics... It's just something of a town gag the way a mulch fire in the median strip caused by a cigarette butt requires two pumpers, a ladder truck, the Hazmat trailer, and the tower...  I guess its better to have it and not need it...  There's definitely a difference in the way a metropolitan county squad responds and the way small town volunteer company does things...

The silver lining is they have to have chicken barbecues on the weekends to pay for all the gas...  This is definitely NOT a bad thing!

Neal’s N-Gauging Trains has a mid 1950s Cadillac ambulance, and the Bachmann autorack came with a mid 1960s Cadillac hearse that could be used for an ambulance.
