N scale resistor wheels

I am attempting to make some resistor wheel sets using metals wheels along with applying a 10K ohm SMD resistor and some conductive paint.  Has anyone done this using Fox Valley metal wheels and gotten good results?  I have heard rumor that FVM wheels don't work very well and was wondering what the problem with them may be.  Atlas metal wheels are insulated at both ends and would make the work of converting them a bit more time consuming.  I do like the look of the FVM wheels and would like to use them.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The issue that iIve seen is the application of to much conductive paint to the wheel end of the reisitor... which then through capillary action etc gets under the resistor and shorts the wheelset.

Use CA on the bottom to secure the resistor at a slight angle, this should help prevent that capillary action, and also guve a bit of leeway on the wheel end, then apply a little conductive paint to the tops of the ends of the resistor.
