best acrylic for brush painting?

Before I left home over Christmas leave, I put together a box of modeling tools and supplies for my Iraq adventure. I figured I could focus on laser cut structures, and have something for the eventual layout when I return.

I assume that I can only get acrylics shipped overseas, and my experience is pretty limited in that arena. I didn't pack up the compressor and all the airbrushing stuff, so I need some suggestions on which brand gives the best results on wood, with a brush. The two main options I can see are Model Flex and Polly Scale. If there are any other options, let me know!

I would say Polly Scale. The model Flex paints are much thinner and are formulated for airbrushing. Stay safe out there and get some modeling done!

For brush painting, I would say Vallejo. It's mostly used by military and figure modelers, but works great on model rr apps too.  They don't have a good rust color, but otherwise have an extensive line. They also make airbrush version too.

Vallejo is very good(and pricey, but what model paint isn't?) paint. I figure Polly Scale costs nearly $700 a gallon now, in the 1 oz. bottles, nearly $800 in the 1/2 oz bottles. There a number of other brands of "figure" paints that are very good. At $10-12 for a 1/3 Oz. bottle (or less) they should be. Check www.Hyper-Scale.com for lots of great info on various paints. Gunze Sanyo's paint's are very good for hand brushing, although until they're dry, it looks like you've ruined things. Not the most convient to get, and they get pricey, and I really like to use their "brands" of primers under them(Mr. Primer, Mr Surfacer I, Mr Surfacer II) air brushed or rattle canned. But G-S is very good stuff too.

Since it would be shipping from the UK, you may be able to get Humbrol enamles out there.  I really like the brush finish of these paints.  They make acryllics, too, but I have not used them.
