It is that time again. Not much for me. Getting ready to teach the second half of the semester, and did some basic scenery rough in on the new section of the M&O. Recovering from a cold ..

Yeah, well, I'm a little short on Ameros these days. This is about all I can afford at the moment:

Had this foreign thing that I thought would turn into a MOW car some day .  I wanted a generator / emergency lighting car .



Added end doors , hated that pyramid outside bracing at the top center so that was cut out and grilled . A diesel and generator was added for looks . The 4 lights are supposed to be extendable / aimable / pointable from within the car . Fuel tank was added . On either side of the fuel tank are various compartments with voltage sockets and terminals to supply emergency AC and DC  power . I have no idea how those big side doors are designed to work but they either lift up , or drop down into ramps I guess . Swapped out the roof , figured I would save the round roof for steam cab roof projects .

As for me, I did nothing ground breaking, just some more plaster and wiring.

That runs pretty smooth , and that bridge is gorgeous . That scale could be used for amusement park rides in N scale . What are the dimensions of that layout ? Cool you even have a site http://www.t-gauge.net/

That is a sweet piece of work Rich; I loved the WOT car you did - I have a couple of these and now you have me thinking but this one's even better !

I had a week of flats and trailers..... A couple more PGE-BCR trailers made an appearence and a 'three foot rule" Pacific Great Eastern" flat car too....



This was the rare "dry goods van" scheme from the late 1950's - BCR-PGE expert Tim Horton advised me of a road number which we've since added....Tim's an invaluable resource for all things PGE !



The new British Columbia Railway is starting to apply the "Dogwood" livery to a few vans....



The collection is starting to take shape..... next is the BCR dry goods van.........



This started life as a UP Atlas Trainman flat - bump rails were added ( in reality they were welded rail attached to steel bars and welded into the stake pckets - I tried rail and it looked really silly - The lumber looks better, if not a bit rough - in reality the rail was "inside" the stakes abut I didn't like the look of that either - I said "three foot rule"....

The ramps, braces etc are styrene and lumber......



The dry goods van now has a number.. T 106



Here's our flat car awaiting it's next candidate.

I also weathered and detailed (a little bit) a Kato SD 45 (that I actually forgot I had) in anticipation of receiving my GN F 45.... they run well together in DC. The Big Sky Blue F 45 is so new it's clean... we will have to fix that !









All in all, a good week for trains....................

i am finally feeling better after being sick for a week - i felt so crappy i didn't even play with the trains.  now i'm ready to rebuild some things and hope to have some pictures for next weekend's recap.

I spent the entire weekend doing the artwork for the Woodchip Loader. Turned out to have quite a few pieces to make all of the items. The kit will include all the brass, prebent tubing and laser-cut wood Holding Pen as show on the prototype using the link below. The prototype is out in Redding, CA.
