Although Atlas did not show the individual GP15-1's as being shipped from China, today Atlas shows that they arrived in Hillside and were shipped to dealers. Perhaps Atlas had them flown in to avoid the Christmas crush. So we should be seeing reviews soon.

For some reason, the Atlas Trainman trainsets featuring the GP15-1s were already on store shelves at Klein's two Saturdays ago when The Mann and I took a break from Timonium to head over there. Not a bad-looking model, from what I could see of it.

Yeah - they looked pretty nice, but there was a lot of packaging in the way to get a good look.

I took one out and gave it a once over. It' s pretty darn good for a cheaper locomotive. Runs very well also.

I know on other boards some have been harping on the price increase for these loco's but it according to our distributor the MSRP is holding at $69.95.

Asarge, stop clouding the issue with facts!  ;D  Harping is a favorite model railroading pasttime.

Saw one in the train set today, not too bad...

.....and selling quickly too!!!  The Conrail versions are moving pretty quickly.  They went from 10 to 4 in about 7 hours (including the two CR and 1 MP that I picked up... ;D)

P.S. Anyone figure out what decoder will fit these?
