HO's getting a 2-10-4.  Dare to dream.  I better not sell off those older cars just yet just in case.


edit:  And wouldn't ya know it, I has two uses for a GE 44t and they are both the early style and not what Bachmann made in HO.

I had been seriously thinking of one branchline/junction being a "rr museum/tourist rr", and those open cars might play into it....  [pulled by an Atlas Shay??]

The prices are in line, or even a bit low for N scale.... they are WAY off base from HO, On30 and G.

They did mention finding a new motor for the 4-6-0, but it was too costly. If they were able to find a wide but short motor, it could fit in the 44T cab.

Looks like Lionel.  Couplers look a little "weak handshake-ish".

At least they are not truck mounted rapid-doh's . I think the upper edge of the cab needs a radius job . All in all they look good to go . Got to remember , with wee the camera gets so close it doesn't miss anything . Looks like the body lines are nice and deep , so painting without obscuring them should be easy . At least 2 for me thank you .

I feel a paper mill switcher coming on...!!

Those are Bachmann's Idiot Couplers (worse than dummies).  The trick will be converting them to MT's without major surgery.

Are you referring to the open sided excursion cars?? Believe the only railroads to have them, for a brief period, say 1895-1910, were the New Haven and Long Island and only used in the summer for short haul trains to the beaches on Cape Cod (NH) and Coney Island (LIRR). New Haven even electrified a few with a center third rail! (ouch!!!)

The 44 tonner looks very good. yep the lines are abit deep, but this is also magnafied about 2x what you average N scale engine is. Those wheel flangs are actually SMALLER then Atlas loco flanges. The handrails are nice and the trucks look really good.

The hood liks a tad wide, but not much wider then the JNJ shell.

I'm in for at least two undecs.

Hard to tell from the photo, but I'm guessing the coupler pockets probably either screw or snap in. I'll bet the conversion should be a no-brainer. Either way, I'm in for a few.

The UP had 1 , LIRR had 1 or 2  , and about a kazillion other roads had them .
