Spookshow mentioned this over on the A-board, so I had to go find the auction.  Enjoy...

The seller apparently knows very little about model railroads, but is a firm believer in Phineas T. Barnum's maxim: "There's a sucker born every minute."

Well, I was going to bid on it, until I noticed that the smokestack on the caboose is twisted in the wrong direction.  Dealbreaker for me.   ;D

For $500, it should have Micro-Trains couplers. I'll pass.
Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Actually, it looks like the caboose HAS microtrains couplers. Now I'm in HO, but I didn't think that MT made couplers in 1965?

I very much doubt this guy's story. I'm pretty sure Rivarossi did not have their steam line out until '67 or '68. And I think Micro-trains couplers came out until around '72, so the conversion was done later, maybe when the caboose got repainted. Anyway, the loco is in terrible shape, with a lot of chips and dirt, and the feedwater heater is missing from the smokebox. There are three other 0-8-0s running in auctions now, all in much better cosmetic shape, and all under $40.

I'am going to put all my Atlas Rivarossi 0-8-0's up for sale three of them, and my later Con Cor version also every Atlas Santa Fe Caboose I own two of the oldies with the three side windows on body actually a GT car and two of the later ones with the Santa Fe style window arrangement ,just thinking about the money I will be raking in because everything but one loco has been MT converted, but I guess I will have to embilish their history and say that they were the first locos sold by Atlas and the first cars to come with MT couplers. Naw "NOT !". I'am to sentamentally attached to them.                                             Nate Goodman (Nato).

Don't forget to title your listing "VINTAGE"  and add "NOT LIONEL, NOT TYCO"
