Steam Night anyone?

I've gotten a couple of inquiries about putting decoders in some more steam...  That got me thinking...
Maybe sometime in the future we schedule a steam only ops session?

I don't have much rolling stock, and only a shay and a connie, but I'd be up for it you all are...  Maybe steam and first generation diesels... 8)

Let's give ourselves some time to put this together...  How about next June?
Seriously... I'd want to accumulate some rolling stock and maybe another engine or six.

I figure a string of old round herald hoppers, and some wood sheathed boxcars, boy... this could be expensive.

If I can somehow get decoders installed in the small amount of steam I have your on.  You gonna restrict the cars to the steam era?

I've got a Bachmann 2-8-0 and one of the Kato mikes, with enough warning I'll be able to bring it.

Neither of them are DCC though, and I don't know if I really want to make the investment for the two "larks".

Hmmm.... next June....?  Well, depending on whether my wife gets her deployment or not, we may be coming East from Nebraska to PA in June anyway (family reunion in Lancaster is 3rd weekend of very June).

If so, I'd love to let these beasts loose on the WM (two of them are DCC):

Speaking of which... Dave, as I've been rummaging through the train magazines that Bob brought by Saturday, I came across an article about the re-steaming of K-4 1361(?) back in the mid-80's, and another nice tribute to the M1 with lots, I mean LOTS of photos.  They are yours for the asking.  I expect you won't want to clutter up the house though until you've settled in among the cornhuskers...

I think the date will be 100% contingent on Dave's ability to attend.  Agreed?

Sound good to me.  Hopefully I can get DCC into my H-10 and I-1 by then.

Dave, by this time next summer, I will be up for an extended OPS session myself .. we could probably accomodate your "conrail" power as well :)

Date AND location, then!  John's a lot closer to the airport than I am, and his room can better accommodate what looks like it might be a bit of a crowd...

Okay.  So I need a MP light pacific to pull my WM passenger consist, and maybe two more connies and 25 or so hoppers.  The shopping list is set.

Better get to work on that engine terminal, John.  Looks like you'll need a coaling tower and some stand pipes!
