Hello,
10 years ago we kitbashed this unit...
Kato U30C (ex Rock Island) and Atlas U25B rear end section...
The handrails section where the cab was still makes us a little headache but the shop forces will find a solution...
Enjoy it, will be BN green soon!

Ed, 10 years ago it was a challenge for us "newbies" to get information about US locos  ::) - and our first kitbash...oh my good  :o , we were trembling before the first cut on a rare U30C shell...do you have any idea how to make the radiator areas plain?

Hmm,would also look good in CR blue, doesn't it?  ;D

Since
you are not exactly replicating a proto locomotive modelers licence allows some leeway.  I would slice it again and use components fron a U23B like the end and some hood doors in place of the U25B radiator section.  Could also appear in ATSF as a wreck repair or UP since they seemed to like the idea of ordering 'B' units well after other railroads stopped buying them...

The U25B has probably the best profile for this. (the U23 & B30-7 high hood is too round)

Id say sand fill sand & than add some BLMA doors.
