IHOP scratch build, part one

The four walls sat glued together on a shelf for the better part of a year.
I have finally cleared off enough space on my workbench to move on with this project.
Here is as far as I have gotten:

I am still tweaking the roof color and may lighten it up a bit more:

Next will come some of the outer building detail and the chimney.
Come hungry, leave happy!

Now you'll have to sprinkle some coffee grounds and dribble a little maple syrup and bacon grease around it to give it that full IHOP smell!

Mmmm....  waffle run-off....  mmmmm....

This looks like a great start.  Do you have photos or plans that you are working from?

Had the buttermilks with bacon this morning.

I just cut and pasted every photo of the classic IHOP building I could find. It seems like over the years they are all slightly different. Here are a few examples:

I had thought that there would have been more uniformity in the construction of these resturants but after scanning over all the photos I have accumulated it seems they vary in size, configuration and roof pitch.

Reminds me of the one that was on York Road in Govans...  Makes you realize that even the dull franchise architecture has gotten even more dull as the years race by...

Part 2:

Hope y'all are ready for more pancakes!
This week's progress on the N scale scratch-built IHOP (International House Of Pancakes).

Still some building details to go in the rear of the structure. Then comes the final detail painting, then windows.
