This time it's not Micro-Trains

Before Full Throttle released their excellent Z scale hoppers I was told to wait for them and given a long list of roadnames they would do. Erie was one of them.

They started off with a rib side hopper:

Then a while later did offset sides:

I offered to research the prototype data for the Erie car and was told something like "I'm sure if they are doing that road name they know how"  So I wait every month for the Erie to show up...did today:
http://www.zscalemonster.com/full_throttle/2000/ft-2015.htm

First it's a rib side and Erie didn't have them, but they did have a few that were welded-29000-29999:

They did have a bunch of offsets-24000-27499 (a lot)

Also the Z scale car is numbered 22xxx?  OK it could pass for a welded car if it was numbered 29xxx. And I even suggested this (this was before they released the offset)

The closest car I can find with a 22xxx number is this oldie:

Why didn't they do the Erie road name on a offset hopper body?  Arrggggggg  ::)

Sadly I'm still gonna buy a few...

Yeah, me too. Shame they pulled an M-T and didn't do their homework, but I'm such a sucker for these hoppers I get 'em anyway. Wonder if they'll ever do CNJ...

And if we don't buy them, they have no money to get them right...

That's a complete bull crap response... you don't go to the store and buy rotten meat in the hopes that the next time you go you'll get fresh meat.

Thank you for your insightful advice. I'll remember that the next time I go to the grocery store.

Really in Z scale what else can I do. First mass produced Erie roadname in Z.

I did tell someone who is in contact with Will (owner).

I wonder if this was his research:

You're way off base Robbman... the grocery store is a business.  Model Train manufacturer's are charity organizations.  This is why we need to give them money to stay in business, even if they sell us rotten goods.
