That says it all...  Fleischmann family owned - about $20M in revenues, etc...

Wonder what this says about Atlas continuing family owned???

Not sure - probably a little bigger than Fleischmann...  They are owned by apparently a Bavarian cement baron (!!??!!).  Maybe Steve4 can fill in some details here...

It's a little sad that these family owned businesses are getting eaten up though. Fleischmann holds what I would say is the same position in Euro models as Atlas - very broad line of HO and N, very high quality, etc...  Their problem is high prices - it's all made in Germany. Roco I think is now using Romania and the far East.

According to one German website, Fleischmann is sold to Roco's owner the Modelleisenbahn GmbH. The owner is the CEO of a construction company that brought Roco back from bankrupcy. As of now, both companies will produce under their own name side by side.

I don't see how it's sad... it's not like the family had the business taken away from them... they just sold it.
