One pic of my small layout The KCC Ry.Layout is 32"X72'" and the vehicles are 1:144th scale and for use on our ex-NTRAK layout.



I wish I could find more of those Racing Champs semis.

Final assembly of my "low rider" Z scale caboose. Still needs detail painting and weathering. Compared with a reference photo:

Still working on my Reading GP7. Painting and lettering is done, and I'm starting to weather it this afternoon, since I won't be among the droves watching the Superbowl.

This week I worked on installing decoders for Eric P (seusscaboose).  He's a Nickel Plate guy.

really like how the Lifelike SW operates. This one has a DZ123 buried in the cab, but the new Digitrax DZ125 is so small, I think I can get it in there, keep some of the cab weight, and maybe get an operating headlight up there above the door...

We shall see... I have three more of these to do ...


This is another neat vantage point I found by randomly dropping the camera on the layout and firing away.


These are also Eric's. I did the decoder installations for him. I thought Yough Crossing was a good place to shoot these, since the Nickel Plate was a partner in the Alphabet Route... It could happen!

Not much major modeling done this weekend,

I did get a chance to take some photos of my newer stuff.

Manada Creek RR #2 got re-assembled


She needs a rear coupler...I am thinking heavily about going to Z couplers for all my stuff.

RDG 253 got it's first "glamour" shot...


I still need to repaint her grab rails and do some weathering

RDG 300 also had her first "glamour" shot...


A background building for a T-Trak module is complete...


And work continues on the Tichy water tower...


Now it's off to get some chinese beer for the SUPA BOWL! (Ying-Ling) ;D

What a difference some weathering makes. Not to mention some sweet natural light. Still not finished; need to glaze the windows, and I'm thinking about replacing the brakewheels. Trouble is, once I replace the brakewheels, then I'll want to do the wonky plastic ladders over, and it will just snowball... anyway, here's my low-rider all grunged up. It's certainly no Tom Mann job, but it passes my personal two-foot test (which is basically, no shiny clean plastic).

I'm asking you, and my wife is BEGGING you to stop. I don't need to get involved in Z scale...my wallet won't support it! A Geep, HT series hopper, and Caboose... all in Reading livery... and small enough to put on a shelf in the living room...

Photo time!

Action on the Pennsy Middle Division in August 1956:



The first shot of the day (above) catches an M1 4-8-2 in charge of a string of empty hoppers running westbound, eventually bound for the mines north of Cresson.  On the eastbound track is a local pulled by H10sb #8756.

We catch up to M1 #6811 again at Jack's Run (below):



Waiting a few minutes we're rewarded by the arrival of TT2, the eastbound TrucTrain behind a matched set of GP9s (PRR class EFS17m).



TT2, normally a hotshot, must have been held up somewhere along the line, because we were able to make it eastward to Lewisport in time to see her blasting through town.



TT2 clears LEW Interlocking as a PRR class L1s 2-8-2 running cabin light gets a clear signal to run westbound through LEW.

A few shots from the MARRS layout at the Timonium show this weekend.

A shot on the McDonnell Loop module (the opposite end of the layout from my loop):



The current state of my Illinois Central bridge (I finally got the water to lay flat):



And since all three of my modules happened to be together, here's a shot encompassing all of them. Front to back: the Area 53 side of the loop; the IC bridge; and the "shuriken" corner (where the big green hill is located).



All three of these modules need some significant work done by the next time they're displayed, in October. With a little luck, the next few months will be less eventful than the last few... :)

I was able to get some decals printed and started on the gondola.  I'm not going to kill myself on the placement since this is just a test for fit and I'll probably weather the crap out of it to represent how it would look in the 60's.   I'll have the finished pictures in my scratchbuilding thread.
