Fine scale HO track?

Hey
I'm looking for about 12" of the finest HO track out there.

I don't want to hand lay it, as I think that flex track can do even better than I can as far as consistency and detail (tie plates, etc), but I'm curious what you all think is the best out there.

I like the Peco Cd 83 these days.  Maybe a slight edge over ME.

Not a big fan of the appearance of Peco turnouts, but doesn't sound like you're worried about that.

Code 83 scales out to 7.22 inches, which I guess would be in the 130-140lb range depending on the profile (cross section).

Code 70 scales out to 6.09 inches, which I guess would be in the 100-110lb range depending on the profile (cross section).

If you're just looking for a nice siding to pose models on for photos/displays etc . . . it's tough to beat Central Valley branchline tie strips with Code 70 or 55 rail.

The plastic tie kits that the Proto:87 store offers are MUCH better than the CV kits.

Add the drop in frogs with all the bolt detail and you have just about everything you could ever want on a switch. Compared to what we have out here 1:1 they are almost 100% dead on. Damn fine looking kits.

Oh man, I'm going to have to get some of those. I bought a plastic display case for my locomotive last night. It's going to live on my desk at work, so I need to make this look GOOD.
