A lot of you n scale guys know me..

For those who don't,  I am an N scale SP guy, main focus is on the lumber industry in July, 1967.  I am building a layout based on the Southern Pacific's Toledo Branch, something was in the research/planning/equipment building stage for years until a spare bedroom became available a couple of years ago.  The layout fills up a good portion of the room, it is somewhat horseshoe shaped, runs along two walls with a peninsula.  You walk in the room and along the peninsula, then around it into the horseshoe.  It is designed for operations with a lower staging level under the town of Toledo, OR.  There is a lumber mill on the backside of the peninsula just outside of staging, then a Coast Range scene with a couple of stick built wood trestles on the inside of the peninsula and the town of Toledo along the two walls.  Toledo itself has a lumber mill, plywood plant, oil dealer and a paper mill with a separate wood chip dump site(as the real one does).  Trackwork is about 90% complete, a mix of ME code 55, hand laid turnouts/derails and hand laid code 40 in most of the industry/auxiliary trackage.  No scenery yet, I'll start that after all of the trackwork is in and working as imagined.  I have a section of backdrop that I want to finish before I lay the rest of the track, there will be a trestle close above my helix that will be close enough to it to either paint it by accident, or worse, damage it since I have to stand inside of the helix to reach the backdrop..  The helix was pondered over for a while until I decided "why not."  It added a continuous loop option that I am glad I put in for when I just want to run a train, or have company over that wants to see my "train set."

I really liked the things you were doing when you were posting to Trainboard and I'm still appreciative for a couple of the resin parts you sent to me.

Bryan, glad you got some use of the parts!  Life changes kept me busy for a while, went through a divorce, moved a couple of times, got remarried, etc..  I didn't do much modeling for a couple of years, then life started settling down again and I started building the layout and my computer took a dump.   But that is now fixed and I have a back log of photos to go through and process.

Aside from that, most of the unfinished projects I had on Trainboard are still the same stage.  The layout has taken priority, been a long time since I've been able to run trains at home.  I need to build patterns for some cars that I need for the operation, plus a new SD9 project, so watch for that soon.

Excellent start there! I'll be very interested to follow your layout thread once you get it started since the Toledo line was in my "backyard" growing up. Those bridges capture of the feel of the line !

Been a member for 4 years and just lurked occasionally.  Finally decided to start posting.  I model N scale and am a member of the local T-Trak club.  Looking forward to lots of discussions.  Now if I can figure out how to modify my profile to add my signature and avatar (I figure there is a post count minimum before I can add an avatar or sig.  All I get right now is the "Ignore Topics Options" line).

Hi everyone,

My name is Bruno, living in Belgium and been a modelrailroader since the year 2000. It was back then, that I first started my US N scale layout but it didn’t become what I expected and never run trains on it, and so I lost interest in the train hobby about 4 years later. But then in 2015, my passion for American modelrailroading came back and started a new very small freelance N scale layout on top of a (selfmade) closet which I’m still working on at this time, and is nearly completed (so yes, I have loco’s up and running this time  ) Also have plans to expand my layout with modules that can be tucked away in my closet and many more ideas...

A few days ago I bought a Atlas MP15DC loco that I need to convert to DCC and that is how I “landed” here by searching.

Hope I don’t write to many grammatical typo’s here  since my language is Dutch.
