The WM was one of the first class 1's to standardize their fleet with roller bearings.  The yellow end markings and the "R" were applied to alert maintenance crews of the new equipment.

I wonder if the N version will have RBs ...

They just might. I have quite a few of these cars, and some of the ones with more modern schemes have RBs instead of friction trucks.

Check out Intermountain's F units in CNJ colors.  Should make you happy.  Don't model CNJ but if anyone ever came out the a double ended Baldwin I would jump on the chance to get one (I like ugly locos).
