grills / non DB hood for Kato SD40-2 models... ?

I'm wondering if there is a supplier for etched grills or casted non Dynamic Brake hoods which I could use on Kato SD40-2 shells ?

something like that but in brass... ?

or this but casted as a exchange part for shells with Dynamic Brake... ?

(unfortunately the Atlas GP40-2 non DB hoods are not wide enough and it looks horrible on a Kato shell...)

thank you...

Thank you...

Of course you mean the Atlas hood is closer to scale width, and doesn't properly fit the overly-wide Kato chassis...   ;D

Miniatures by Eric makes louvered grills for SD40-2's

http://www.miniaturesbyeric.com/itm00244.htm

There designed for the old Con-Cor model so I'm not sure how they would work
for Kato but thats about the closest you can get...

Another option would be to take the grills from an Atlas or Kato shell and sand the back down
so you can mount it like you would a casting...

thank you, that's it, cool...
...I will glue them on a Kato SD40-2 non DB shell and modify the shell to fit the new drive, cab and sill (which is possible, I've done that already for the SOO #777 engine)

unfortunately Kato shells are way too expensive to slaughter and the Atlas ones from a GP40 are too small, not long enough...   :(
