Yes.  I believe the Great Northern had a bunch that they built in their own shops.

I have some Bachmann 40 Hi Cubes in both rib side and smooth side. No waffle sides, unless they made 3 Hi Cube versions.
Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Um, that's not a hi-cube, and Kisatchie's right, only smooth and rib side for that Bachman car. I know MT did a hi-cibe 70-footer (?) with waffles, but wasn't it MDC that did a non-hi-cube 50-footer with waffles?

yes, this looks like a PS car, which the MDC model is...

No doubt a kitbash is possible - taking a look at it myself here...

Wow, that's an old thread and when my juvenile saw the subject line I thought "silent but deadly".  :D
Also, there is Kiz's post here with no Ms. Dee in the signature?

I have examples of all the Bachmann 40 foot Hi-Cubes. Actually pretty nice cars. Ribbed and smooth-side. No waffles.

Yes, I was just a youngster of 54 when this thread started. :D

That's pretty cool, thanks for sharing!

For a moment I was wondering if this might have been for phosphate service (SCL had several types of outside braced 40-footers with roof hatches) but a comment on the image page indicates it's formerly Atlanta & West Point, and I don't know if they carried phosphate traffic.

This would be fun to kitbash.

Cheers,

Stu

Well, I’m eighteen years late with a response, but Bryan was right: the OP’s link was to a photo of a standard height 50’ former Seaboard System boxcar, and, yes, MDC did offer models.  These are a couple of the HO scale version:
