Trailers are too new for my N world, but the BN plated-over cabooses are perfect.   I don't know what happened to the first run (happened while I was completely out of N for a bit) but I've never seen one on eBay or in any store.  Suppose that is why they are doing another run.

BTW...Has Atlas indicated any intention of using metal wheels any time soon?

Just wondering if they've said anything about it at shows or otherwise.   Sorry if this has been covered somewhere, I don't follow N as closely as I used to.

When they are designing a new model they seem to be specifying metal wheels. But they don't upgrade existing models or anything Trainman branded.

So out of the models in this announcement, the well cars and PS1s have metal wheels and everything else doesn't. I kinda assume they don't think its worth the investment to retool all the trucks.

The trucks work fine with metal wheels, but I suspect that they're made in different factories, or under different contracts.  Getting metal wheels from one source into models from another is likely a hassle.

Not to mention that their plastic wheels work well enough for many modelers, so changing them wouldn't likely result in enough more sales to offset the extra costs.

Yeah, I just was looking at the features on the EV cabooses and didn't see anything about metal wheels.  I recall receiving my coalveyors awhile back and thinking wow, still no metal wheelsets.   I would think a caboose might be a good place to start that trend.  Not many of us are buying 100 cabooses. (vs coalveyors where one might.)

I just spent $45    on the Athearn acid tank cars so the mind and wallet are swimming at the moment.
