In my effort to finish overdue projects, I finally wrapped up a pair of Silver Spike tampers that I’ve been sitting on for way too long.

As for color matching cars and locos, just make up a passenger train with one Kato E8 from the first issue, a B unit from the first COLA set, another A from a early 2000's issue, and UP cars from the original 6-car set, the "add-on" pool car sets, and a car from each of the three COLA releases. All the same manufacturer doing the same railroad paint scheme on each one.

Consistency is nice, but what do you do when the prototype was inconsistent?  BN 810, formerly an NP freight F9, had just been repainted.  6310 was built  in October of 1971, so it's paint was 5 1/2 years old.  Note that 6310 isn't the same shade as 1737, the next one in line.

So, out of curiosity, what paint would you use to match 1737?

Sirenwerks:  That's a good question.  I have several greens (spray cans) I use for BN Cascade Green, but none truly match OLD Cascade Green.  I have sprayed color samples of each, and the closest (not all that close) is Scalecoat PC Green.  I don't have anything even that close to 6310.  None of my paints have enough blue(?) in them.

For 810, I'd probably use Model Master 28118 "Green Go", except that Model Master has been discontinued.

I've been thinking about some experiments with Modelflex BN, PC and Weyerhaeuser greens. I think the latter has the mossiness needed.
